MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., December 15, 2009 - Goodmail Systems, the creator of CertifiedEmail™, the industry’s standard class of trusted email, today announced the publication of the CertifiedDomain™ list, the email industry’s first domain-based whitelist of good email senders. Meeting the evolving needs of the email industry, CertifiedDomain further extends Goodmail’s leadership in standards-based certification products for trusted brands that engage with consumers via email. CertifiedDomain is the first in a new line of domain-based products to be introduced by Goodmail throughout 2010.

“As more and more email senders embrace email authentication standards such as DKIM and SIDF, it is now time to assign and track reputation at the internet domain level,” said Daniel Dreymann, president and co-founder of Goodmail. “Goodmail has built the largest and most trusted email certification ecosystem consisting of the world's leading webmail providers, Internet Service Providers, email technology vendors, and Email Service Providers. With this, Goodmail is uniquely positioned to maintain and publish the industry’s authoritative domain-based whitelist.”

Owners of internet domains listed on Goodmail’s CertifiedDomain list undergo a rigorous accreditation process, passing checks across a number of public and private databases. Goodmail cross-references a domain’s reputation against this data, ascertains an applicant’s adherence to email sending best practices, and makes a determination on whether to list a domain on CertifiedDomain. Goodmail maintains the list on an ongoing basis, continually adding and removing domains based on updated information acquired through its vast ecosystem.

“Goodmail continues to look for new ways to meet the changing needs of the email industry, and domain-based products are one area where we’ve seen great interest,” said Dreymann. “CertifiedDomain is a first step in that direction, and we will follow soon with additional domain-based products. As we push innovation with our entry level domain-based offering, Goodmail will continue its investment in new and existing premium products including CertifiedEmail, PostmarkedEmail, and CertifiedVideo.”

Availability and Accreditation

Open to email receivers worldwide, the basic CertifiedDomain list is publicly available for download at http://www.goodmailsystems.com/CertifiedDomain.txt . Numerous providers of email services will use the basic list as an input to their email filtering algorithms. List implementation by receivers will help quality senders deliver a higher portion of their messages through to consumers.

A more comprehensive CertifiedDomain list is available to Goodmail partners under a licensing agreement. The comprehensive list provides more details about each domain, various scoring elements, and applicable policies.

To apply for inclusion on the CertifiedDomain list, applicants can visit http://www.goodmailsystems.com/products/certifieddomain to pay US$399 and start the accreditation process.
